MARK REYNOLDS - SOUTH WEST LONDON
Hi my name is Mark, I am married with 3 children, well young adults now. My eldest is the head of maths at a local secondary school, my other son is working in a lab in central London, whilst my daughter is studying at university. My wife is a florist who has her own business. I have worked for over 30 years at a courier company; as my children were growing up this allowed me to play a full part in the father role I loved. My interests are sport, music and fighting for fairness.
My journey started by becoming a Samaritan about 15 years ago. I really enjoyed it and it enriched me more than anything I had done before. This led me onto doing my counselling level 5 diploma alongside being a Samaritan, and I qualified as a counsellor about 12 years ago now. Since then, I continued to volunteer at my placement until very recently where I led supervision groups and attended several training courses including couples work and workshops on depression and anxiety. I see private clients at home and am happy to work using zoom or telephone calls.
How I work
My approach to therapy is solely to work with the person in front of me. I value each client individually and try to use my experience to guide that person to a more comfortable place or a position of greater understanding about either themselves or their presenting issue. I pride myself on being a very down to earth person who I hope comes across as genuine. The importance of this, for me, is to build a trusting relationship that allows therapy to flourish.
