CHLOE SWINTON - COUNSELLOR and EFT PRACTITIONER
About me
I am the Founder of Ambiguous Loss UK and for many years I've been one of the very few Therapists in the UK working in the field of ambiguous loss and mental health. I have over 20 years of extensive experience; providing specialist support and raising awareness of ambiguous loss. Background I am a fully qualified and trauma-informed MBACP Integrative Counsellor who specialises in ambiguous loss and grief counselling. I'm also trained as an Advanced Practitioner (Level 3) in EFT Tapping; a cognitive somatic approach especially helpful for trauma and PTSD. I have worked with people affected by missing, domestic abuse, dementia, stroke, chronic mental health issues and an extensive range of other types of losses. For over 10 years, I provided specialist telephone support at the national charity Missing People, and previously worked as a Counsellor for Norfolk Family Carers, and was a Co-Founder of The Caring Space: Norfolk Carers Counselling. How I work By nature, I'm described as warm, empathetic, caring and grounded. By practicing integratively, I blend elements from different approaches to suit your individual needs. Working holistically, I explore all parts of your being and am guided by my MARCH Model for Ambiguous Loss. I've undertaken in-depth training and previously had my own personal ambiguous loss experiences which deepened my understanding. Other information As a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I am bound by their Code of Ethics. I have a Certificate of Proficiency from the BACP and am listed on their Accredited Register which is approved by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care. I have public liability and professional indemnity insurance and a current enhanced DBS check. Get in touch to find out more or visit my personal website. |
