We are offering a bite-sized 90 minute webinar session to help you understand ambiguous loss with a focus on estrangement. We welcome you whether you are estranged from someone or support people in a professional role.

The charity Stand Alone believe that 5 million people in the UK have made the choice not to be in contact with a family member, and that an estimated 12 million family members may be affected by estrangement (2014). Estrangement is ambiguous loss and comes under type one where someone may be physically absent but psychologically present.

  • Identify unique factors linked with estrangement
  • Understand differences to other types of loss and grief
  • Recognise the impact of ambiguous loss
  • Explore the MARCH Model and ways to cope
  • Provide tips and strategies to live well with uncertainty
  • Share further resources and support.

  • 1.5 hour online session delivered via Zoom
  • First-hand lived experiences of ambiguous loss
  • Clear and concise bite-sized knowledge
  • Professional PowerPoint presentation
  • Time for questions and answers
  • Handout with resources list for further learning
  • CPD certificate on completion if required.
