About me
I am the Founder of Ambiguous Loss UK and for many years I've been one of the very few Counsellors and Trainers in the UK working in the field of ambiguous loss and mental health. I have over 20 years of extensive experience; providing specialist support and raising awareness. Background I am a fully qualified and trauma-informed Integrative Counsellor who specialises in ambiguous loss and grief counselling. I have worked with people affected by missing, domestic abuse, dementia, stroke, chronic mental health issues and numerous of other types of losses. For over 10 years, I provided specialist telephone support at the national charity Missing People, and previously worked as a Counsellor for Norfolk Family Carers, and was a Co-Founder of The Caring Space: Norfolk Carers Counselling. How I work By nature, I'm described as warm, empathetic, caring and grounded. By practicing integratively, I blend elements from different counselling approaches to suit your individual needs. Working holistically, I explore your physical, emotional and spiritual being. I've undertaken in-depth training and previously had my own personal ambiguous loss experiences which deepened my understanding. Other information As a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I am bound by their Code of Ethics. I have a Certificate of Proficiency from the BACP and am listed on their Accredited Register which is approved by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care.
