RAISING AWARENESS OF AMBIGUOUS LOSS
Ambiguous loss is a term not widely known in the UK, but a type of loss that affects many people. We are raising awareness in the UK with the aim of bringing support and understanding to people experiencing this kind of loss. We want to reach those who don’t know where to turn.
Ambiguous Loss Awareness Day
An opportunity to highlight ambiguous loss, remember those missing in mind or body, and offer support, resources and information. Put 19th July in your diary and keep an eye on Ambiguous Loss Awareness Day page for happenings.
In The Media
Raising awareness of ambiguous loss through public media opportunities. Want to organise an interview or write an article? Get in touch with details. Check out some of our media. These have included highlighting the topic through national Carer's Weeks', along with opportunities such as consultation with film directors covering ambiguous loss in story lines.
Training and Talks
Our Founder Chloe Swinton, has 20 years experience training adults on a variety of topics including counselling skills and ambiguous loss. She has worked as a lead trainer in national and local charities and facilitated interactive learning sessions of varying lengths to staff, volunteers and carers.
Chloe, a confident speaker, has delivered talks on the subject to a variety of people and groups, in an understanding and sensitive manner. Chloe has also co-facilitated a six week course for a group of women who had recently left domestic abuse relationships, and empowered them to move forwards with their life and reach acceptance of their relationship loss. She has additionally held grief circles and emotional debrief groups connected with loss.
Chloe can offer talks on all aspects of ambiguous loss and shares her unique model to help support those experiencing this loss. Training of this kind is hard to find in the UK, and ambiguous loss is generally not explored on counselling and therapeutic courses.
If you are interested training or a talk or workshop on ambiguous loss either in Norfolk or online, please contact us with your requirements.
